Tom Gurski

Founder, CEO

Tom is an innovator who has rigorously engineered solutions to bring impactful technologies to life over a 20+ year career. He led the development of a mobile unit that can empty trash-laden pit latrines and process the waste onsite, dramatically improving sanitation in low income countries. He has designed e-mobility systems, medical devices, and Stirling-cycle generators. In various leadership positions, Tom has proven himself as a technology integrator, team organizer, and people manager, and thrives when connecting market need to technology innovation to project execution. Tom founded Carbyne Enterprises, a technology consultancy and think tank, and spent years conceiving and incubating Blue Dot innovations. Tom holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.

 
 
 

Suzanne Wernevi

Head of Business Development

In her 20+ year career in the e-commerce industry, Suzanne developed expertise in product management and brand strategy, with P & L responsibility and a track-record of driving revenue growth across international markets. As an advocate for climate, voting rights, and small business, she has made key contributions to passing legislation and developed relationships with elected officials on the local, state, federal, and cabinet levels. Suzanne leverages these experiences to advance Blue Dot’s relationships with investors, partners, and press. She holds an MBA in international strategy from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland, and a BA in Literature from Pomona College.

David Byng

David enjoyed a 37-year career with the Province of British Columbia, including as Associate Deputy Minister and Chief Operating Officer for the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. He is currently the Honorary Consul General for the Government of Japan, sits on the Royal Roads University’s Board of Governors, and operated a strategic consultancy.

 
 

Isabella Taba

Isabella has driven success in the startup and high-tech world, first as an engineer and then in several senior management and executive roles, in a career spanning over 15 years. Isabella holds an MBA from Cornell University and an MS in aerospace engineering from University of Michigan.
